Stay alert on every drive
DriveAwake uses your phone’s front camera to watch for signs of tiredness while you drive, and warns you with sound, vibration and voice. It keeps working while your navigation app is on screen.
What it watches for
DriveAwake never alerts on a single blink or yawn. It combines several signals over time into a risk level.
Eye closure
Notices when your eyes stay closed longer than a normal blink, and how much of the last minute they were closed.
Yawns
Counts repeated yawns within a few minutes and tells them apart from talking.
Head nods
Detects your head dropping, and raises the alarm at once if your eyes are closed too.
Eyes off the road
Reminds you to look ahead if your head stays turned away for several seconds.
Works with your navigation
Start a trip, then open Google Maps, Waze or any other app. Monitoring continues in the background.
Calibrated to you
A 16-second guided calibration adapts detection to your face and to where your phone is mounted.
Private by design
Images are analysed on your phone and discarded at once. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Fully offline
No account, no server, no ads. The app does not even request Internet permission.
How it works
Set it up before you start driving. Once it is running you do not need to touch the phone.
- Mount your phonePlace it in a holder where the front camera can see your face.
- Calibrate onceFollow the spoken instructions for 16 seconds.
- Start tripCheck the preview shows your face, then open your navigation app.
- DriveIf signs of tiredness appear, DriveAwake alerts you. Stop it from the notification when you arrive.
Know its limits
DriveAwake is a preventive, complementary assistance tool. It is not a medical device, it does not guarantee that tiredness will be detected, and it is no substitute for rest.
- In low light or at night the front camera sees your face poorly and detection becomes unreliable.
- With dark glasses your eyes cannot be measured.
- There may be false alerts, and signs of tiredness that go undetected.
- If you feel sleepy, stop in a safe place.
